About the event
Join us for an invigorating and restorative journey into the forest! Forest bathing (or shinrin-yoku in Japanese) is a form of nature therapy - a practice of mindfulness that allows you to slow down and reconnect with nature in an immersive sensory-aware experience - not an actual bath! During our session, we will focus on deep relaxation, mindfulness activities, and sensory awareness as we take a short hike through the trails of East Palisades to the Bamboo Forest. Along the way We'll take time to listen deeply to the sounds of nature and enjoy its sights, smells, tastes, and textures - all in a mindful way.
Once there, we'll get cozy by the river, and enjoy a group smudging, vegan lunch, and sound bowl jam session! (feel free to bring your own instruments to join in!) We'll rest, share experiences and healing practices, and when we've closed out our circle, we will pack our belongings, leaving no trace of our time there.
This event is open to everyone; however, the trail to the bamboo forest will require the ability to hike up and down several inclines. Please bring comfortable clothing suitable for walking outdoors. Don't forget your water bottle – hydrating is essential for a mindful experience! We look forward to having you join us for this special journey into the woods.

We understand that everyone needs a little escape from daily life - come take a break in the comfort of nature with us! Our forest bathing experience is designed to be both calming and invigorating; it is an opportunity to unplug from the city and connect with the natural world around us.
What to wear: Comfortable weather-appropriate clothing. We recommend dressing in layers for a hike, as your temperature may fluctuate with activities.
What to bring: Water, (optional) Yoga mat or outdoor blanket, trail snacks, bagged lunch if you desire your own, and sound tools if you plan on joining in on the group sound bath. Please keep in mind you will be responsible for carrying your own pack and items!
